Kevin B served in the U.S Navy as a helicopter pilot. He met his wife, Rita B., at a wedding, and together they had three children. Together they experienced three deployments before Kevin passed away in a helicopter crash.
“I’ve accepted the fact that I don’t have a husband, but I think the grief never goes that while you watch your children grow they will never have a father,” explained Rita. “Our son got into the naval academy, it’s where I met Kevin, and so it means a lot. It’s hard my husband won’t be here for all the monumental moments in life.”
