Fallen Patriots serves to honor the legacy of and pay tribute to the bravest men and women who have given their lives defending our country. As we celebrate our month of Independence, we reflect on traditions over the last two centuries that make our nation great. One such tradition takes place when a service member passes away and the surviving family is presented with a flag in their honor.
During some flag folding ceremonies, the following statements and quotes serve as a reminder of our shared history as a nation.
Fold 1: The 13 stripes represent the original 13 states: Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Georgia, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, South Carolina, New Hampshire, Virginia, New York, North Carolina, and Rhode Island
