Help Caron United Build the World's Biggest Christmas Stocking
During the 2015 holiday season, an unveiling of the World’s Biggest Stocking will take place. Caron United has launched a campaign that commenced on Veterans Day dedicated to raising awareness to a patriotic cause. All knitting and crocheting lovers are being asked to step forward and make a small square that will contribute to the stocking. No experience is needed, only the willingness to try. For every ball of Caron United yarn purchased, fifteen cents will go toward post-secondary education for children of the brave men and women who have given their lives for this great country. Losing a parent changes the course of a child’s life. For the spouses that are left to perform the role of both parents, raising a child or children alone is challenge enough. Sixty percent of surviving spouses make less than $50,000 per year. More than half of the respondents indicated they have trouble making ends meet for their families. We believe we can help relieve some of their burden by providing chilren of fallen patriots a college education
