Did you know Caron United is attempting to break the world record for the World’s Biggest Christmas Stocking? Caron United has partnered with Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation to donate 15 cents of every ball of made in America yarn towards a college education for children of fallen patriots. This is your chance to be a part of a world record, and while doing so, you can also benefit our fallen heroes’ children.
We are 10% of the way there, but we need more 3’x3’ blankets to break the record! The last stocking was over 168 feet in length or over the width of one football field.
Here’s how to get started in creating the World’s Biggest Stocking:
1. Reach out to your friends or group you’re involve with: military wives, book club, church, coworkers, PTA, Girl Scouts, golf buddies, just to name a few. You do not have to be a seasoned knitter in order to participate; you just have to be willing to try and have fun.
2. Download the free knit or crochet patterns and purchase your Caron United Yarn online or at a Michael’s or JoAnn's near you.
3. Get into the spirit by incorporating patriotic décor with a few of our tips on Pinterest or get into the Christmas spirit all year with red and green.
4. Provide yummy treats. For a patriotic theme, guests will love red, white and blue cupcakes or blueberry pie.
Once you have the guests, supplies and snacks planned, make sure to snap memories of the knitting and crocheting at your party and share your photos with the hashtag: #WorldsBiggestStocking. Your photo may be featured on one of our social media pages!
