A dream is only a dream without the help of countless people and organizations. Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation has been fortunate to have the generous support of partners and sponsors from the very beginning, and our list continues to grow. Their dedication to help us fulfill our mission has been inspiring, and their commitment has ranged from creating awareness about Fallen Patriots to financial support, volunteering, organizing and supporting events, and gifts-in-kind.
Why Children of Fallen Patriots?
Since 2002, Children of Fallen Patriots has worked to identify the estimated 20,000 children who have lost a parent in the line of duty. With just under 1/3 of those students identified, there are still thousands of families worried about how they are going to educate their children to compete in today’s world with the loss of their breadwinner.
Giving out on average approximately $1,500,000 a year, over $22 million in program spend in total, this is merely the beginning. But the question remains, beyond the obvious need and honoring of a fallen patriots’ legacy, why should an individual or corporation trust Children of Fallen Patriots to steward their donation or partnership effectively.
Fiscal Responsibility. Our organization prides itself on transparency and accountability, with an decreasing annual overhead rate over the last three years. Our Senior Leadership team, Board of Directors, and Board of Advisors are actively engaged in monitoring monthly detailed financial reports. All efforts are made to maintain year over year administrative spending, recognizing that a certain amount of growth is necessary alongside the number of students we serve annually.
Results Oriented. Children of Fallen Patriots, from the date of inception, can give down to the last cent the amount of scholarship given to any of the more than 1,115 students we have assisted. Because of this, we pride ourselves on our ability to demonstrate our work in a detailed and results-oriented manner.
How to Get Involved
Sponsor a Scholar
Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation averages an annual gap in funding of approximately $8,000 a year, and $32,000 for a student who attends a four-year college degree program. Corporations are welcome to sponsor an individual student, or a group of students. Children of Fallen Patriots will provide annual reporting on their success, and should our scholars be available and willing, attendance at various corporate events to first hand tell the story of their success to your stakeholders.
Support our Annual Dinner
In addition to sponsoring a scholar, corporations have chosen to support our annual Greenwich Gala (or other gala’s hosted national), the largest fundraiser in Greenwich for a number of years. Greenwich has been honored to present The Patriots Award to individuals such Brigadier General Michael “Erik” Kurilla (2015), Admiral (ret.) Bill McRaven (2014), and Colonel Brian Mennes (2012), among others. We are proud to fill the room with honored and distinguished guests, including our scholars and their families, a perfect place to showcase a corporate brand’s support of such a worthy cause.
Encourage Workplace Giving
Rallying your team to support your company’s efforts fosters a solid mission and increases team effort internally!
Sponsor an Intern
Beyond scholarship needs, our students are looking for internship and job placement during and after school. By marrying the needs of the corporation with the skills of our scholars, Children of Fallen Patriots seeks to join efforts with companies, similar to programs sponsored by Vineyard Vines, to provide continued opportunities for success post-college.
Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation is eager to work on partnerships with private sector companies that share the vision of honoring our fallen patriots through the support of their families. Through cause-related, mutually beneficial campaigns, Children of Fallen Patriots and its corporate partners generate greater awareness of issues confronting Gold Star Families, seeking to enroll all of the 20,000 children in need.
