Reston, VA – Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation (Fallen Patriots) was honored to celebrate support from The Connecticut Chapter of the Association of Pool and Spa Professionals (CONSPA) on Tuesday, August 28 at Oxford Greens in Oxford, Connecticut.

The 5th Annual CONSPA Golf Tournament, led by Robert Romano raised an incredible $10,500 to help provide college scholarships for military children who have lost a parent in the line of duty.

This year’s tournament drew record-high participation for the event and venue with 116 golfers in attendance.  CONSPA has been proud supporters of Fallen Patriots for 5 years, providing $75,000 in donations, which equates to 12 years of college for Gold Star students.

The afternoon included remarks from Chris Petrakos, Development Officer of Fallen Patriots, who also served as a United States Navy SEAL for 9 years.   To speak on the importance of charitable contributions to military families who have lost a loved one in the line of duty, Fallen Patriots scholar Kylie Owen shared her story.

Kylie was 15 when her father U.S. National Guard Staff Sgt. Kirk Owen was killed in an IED explosion while on deployment in Afghanistan.  With the help of Fallen Patriots, she graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science and recently joined the team as a full-time scholarship administrator.

Fallen Patriots is proud to stand by scholars like Kylie and is grateful for CONSPA for doing the same.
