Student Spotlight Connor.jpg

Connor M. is the son of U.S. Army Colonel David M. “My Dad was a dedicated solider and man who loved his country,” Connor explained. “Even when his health was declining, he still looked forward to time in his office surrounded by his fellow soldiers.” Connor’s father passed away in 2011 from brain cancer due to toxic exposure.

With help from Fallen Patriots, Connor is studying Unmanned Aircraft Systems at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He’s been interested in drone technology since high school and wants to be part of the future of this fast-growing career field. Connor plans to start his own company to provide drone services to local emergency response organizations, engineering companies, and realtors.

Connor believes his father would be proud of him for making the most of the college experience. He’s a member of the Unmanned Aircraft Systems club, a DJ for the college radio station, and is involved with a campus outreach program. He encourages other Fallen Patriots scholars to reach out to the resources offered and to stay open to opportunities.

“Fallen Patriots has given me the ability to continue school without the stress of financial commitments.  I’m very grateful and thankful that I’ve not had to take out any educational loans to date!”

There are approximately 25,000 military who have lost an active duty parent in the military over the last 35 years. The vision of Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation is to ensure that every such child receives all necessary college funding.
