TRUGREEN GIVES BACK

May 9, 2016

Total giving to charitable organizations has increased yearly since 2007, and not only is the funding vital to the charities, the services that nonprofits provide are also vital.

As companies and their employees increasingly seek to give back, Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation (Fallen Patriots) is overjoyed with gratitude.  Corporate giving presents a unique opportunity for Fallen Patriots to reach more children of the fallen, while also creating awareness for our mission.  As the new school year approaches, the recent philanthropy efforts from TruGreen will help Fallen Patriots better serve children of the fallen during their academic journeys.

TruGreen awards local branch teams that have demonstrated exceptional growth with a $2,000 donation towards the charity of their choice. Fallen Patriots was recently presented $12,000 after being selected by six TruGreen branches. Since TruGreen launched the charitable giving component in 2014, branches have supported Fallen Patriots with contributions totaling $30,000. The impact these remarkable donations have had on surviving children is noteworthy.

“On behalf of the entire TruGreen family, it’s our hope this contribution can be helpful in uplifting children who have lost a parent to combat and provide them with the education they deserve,” explained David Alexander, President and CEO of TruGreen.

A college education is the single most important gift Fallen Patriots can provide children of the fallen with. Military families who lose a loved one in the line of duty typically face an average cost gap of $32,000 for a four-year college education. TruGreen’s donation brings Fallen Patriots closer to bridging that gap.
