We all lose our fathers one day, but for many it happens far too soon. Over 97% of those killed in action are men, often leaving behind a family who lose the simple pleasure of having a dad to celebrate Father’s Day with.
Officially proclaimed by mayors and governors throughout the nation, May 13th is recognized as Children of Fallen Patriots Day. This patriotic day is a special time to pause and remember the sacrifice of our fallen patriots as well the children they have left behind.
In remembrance of military members who have lost their lives while serving the United States, and in honor of the surviving families, PepsiCo North America Beverages is conducting their third annual relay, “Rolling Remembrance,” to help spread awareness for Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation (Fallen Patriots).
Fallen Patriots is seeking qualified student applicants for college scholarships for 2017. The foundation provides college scholarships to military children who have lost a parent in active military service, including combat casualties, military training accidents, service-related illnesses, suicide and other duty-related deaths as ruled by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Along with the help of partners like K&N Engineering, Fallen Patriots is changing the lives of those left behind in the most positive way, allowing children to achieve a career path that they desire through a college education.
While there are many struggles after a fallen loved one passes, families are comforted knowing there are so many people and organizations like Fallen Patriots who want to help. The foundation strives to be part of the healing process that eventually brings a sense of happiness to surviving military families.
Although fallen soldiers are deceased, their love and passion often lives on within their surviving families. Cherished memories never fade as children of the fallen strive forward with the support of Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation.
